Tignes - The Big Blue!

The Tignes-Val d´Isère area is full of natural wonders. Among them, the natural lake of Tignes 2100 which dons its mantle of ice for winter. 

Between 1 and 2 metres thick, the ice forms and reshapes itself every day, creating a magical play of light and shadow. Supervised by a qualified diving instructor, set off on a unique adventure, day or night, in complete confidence in the town where the famous film The Big Blue was shot (scene under the ice in Peru)!

Day light scuba diving under the ice is accessible to all !

The night time diving is recommended to those who have a previous experience.

To remember

Participation conditions

  • From 15 years old, minimum height 1.55m/4'7
  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult
  • No prior diving exrperience required
  • Time slot : just an hour including 15 to 20 min under water
  • For night dives, a minimum of 2 divers is required

Organisation and safety

  • First dive and inexperienced divers are taken care of individually during the whole experience
  • One person per intructor, maximum 2 participants per time slot
  • The activity is supervised under the responsibility of a state certified or state graduate dive instructor
  • Ski storage on site

Equipment

  • We supply all your diving equipment
  • You'll be warmly equipped!
  • Bring: technical underwear (top and tights) as for skiing and thick socks,
  • Gloves and beanie for after diving

Insurance info and cancellation

  • Flexible Sales Conditions
  • Insurance: Insurance is strongly recommended.
  • You can subscribe when finalising your reservation to an individual cancellation insurance : ASSURMIX. This insurance covers you in the event of illness or accident preventing you from participating in your sporting activity (this must be certified by a doctor).

Qualified divers and training

 

  •  Divers with a recognised diving certificate (PADI or CMAS / FFESSM or ANMP or other) can possibly dive in pairs with one of our instructors, only if all the safety conditions are met and at the discretion of the instructor (the decision is solely that of the diving instructor, and from N2 or minimum equivalent). In this case, we do ask that divers provide a medical certificate
  • Our instructors offer PADI or CMAS / FFESSM or ANMP diving training. Three dives will be spread over a day and a half. The price includes the material and the validation of the training
