Moonbike: The bike of snow 2.0  🛵❄

Try the moobike: snowmobiling 2.0. It's an electric vehicle designed to give you the thrill of riding in a different way. A cross between a snowmobile and a motocross bike. It's an opportunity to have fun with family and friends on one of our Tommeuses or Val Claret circuits. 😜

You'll be supervised by a qualified instructor, who will explain how to handle your moonbike in complete safety.

If you want to take a break from your day's skiing. Stop off for a moonbike ride at our base at the bottom of the Tommeuses chairlift.

Pedestrians can access the site from the edge of the ski slope. They must then cross the ski slope (300 m walk, 50 m elevation gain). Not recommended for people who have difficulty walking.

On skis: from the Daille gondola lift, head towards the Tommeuses chairlift
On foot: pedestrian access only from the La Daille gondola lift in Val D'Isère (bus stop nearby) followed by a 10-minute walk

Participation conditions & access

  • The activity is accessible from 18 years old, with a driving licence, with a minimum height of 1.55m and a maximum weight of 100kg. 
  • Experience in bike / motorbike or other gear is recommended
  • 5 participants per hour, 1 person per machine

 

  • The activity starts at the bottom of the Tommeuses chairlift in the ski area (ski pass required), 2 ways to get there:
  • By ski: from the La Daille gondola, towards the Tommeuses chairlift
  • On foot: pedestrian access only from La Daille gondola in Val D'Isère (bus stop nearby) followed by a 5 minute walk downhill, 10 minute walk uphill (possibility to take a pedestrian pass only). Please follow the pedestrian route to the base, be careful when crossing the piste and stay together.  Pedestrian access : pedestrian access map No. 1 + pedestrian access map No. 2. Ski poles are available at the top of La Daille gondola to make your descent easier. Just ask the lift personnel for them. Pedestrians can access the site from the edge of the ski slope. They must then cross the ski slope (300 m walk, 50 m elevation gain). Organisation and safety

  • The activity is supervised under the responsibility of a state-certified or state graduate instructor
  • Before the activity, you must sign a rental contract for the machine
  • The activity is carried out on a closed and enclosed circuit in accordance with articles L.362-1 to 4 of the Code de l'Urbanisme

Fast and silent! But what is it?

The Moon bike is born in the French Alps between 2015 and 2018, this new 100% electric mode of travel on snow answers a simple question: why in summer, means of locomotion are infinite while in winter soft mobility in snowy environments is very limited. 

Nicolas, its inventor, imagined an ultra-light, powerful machine capable of moving effortlessly on snow. It had to be almost silent and, given his love of nature and outdoor activities, it had to have as low an environmental impact as possible. The solution: an electric motor, and all 100% French! 

During the covid, Moon bikes trusted us to test and help improve their machines. 

Since then, evolution2 has installed two complete fleets of Moon bikes in Tignes and Val d'Isère...
