Classified among the most beautiful freshwater wrecks, the wreck of France rests on a bottom of 42 meters and is accessible from Level 2 !
A little history…
The France was launched in 1909. A magnificent paddle-wheel steamer, it is 47 meters long and has a power of 400 hp. It can carry 700 passengers.
In 1962 it had to be decommissioned and demolished, but it was bought by the director of the Bateaux Mouches de Paris to make it a second home. It will remain at anchor until the morning of March 13, 1971, when it disappeared... The reasons for its sinking have never been explained...
