Tour of Mont Pourri
A spectacular 3-day journey through the Alps of Savoie and the Vanoise National Park, offering an immersive experience in the heart of wild and preserved mountain landscapes. This multi-day trek allows you to discover exceptional panoramas, alpine pastures, glacial valleys, alpine lakes, and high-altitude forests. Prioritizing exploration and discovery over the sporting aspect, the trek includes 2 days with over 1,000 meters of positive elevation gain, making it a beautiful alpine itinerary with 5 to 7 hours of walking daily. 🚶♂️🌲
Day 1: Departure from the valley (Les Arcs 1600 - Refuge du Mont Pourri)
📍 Starting point: You begin your hike in the heart of one of the largest resorts in the Alps. You will leave behind the human footprint on the mountain for the vast wild spaces of the Vanoise National Park. This village is easily accessible by funicular from Bourg Saint Maurice and is an excellent starting point for the hike. Private transfer from Bourg Saint Maurice is available (at an additional cost).
📏 Elevation gain / distance: 12.5 km and 975m D+ 240m D-.
🏡 Overnight: You spend the night at the Mont Pourri refuge. 🛏️
Day 2: Immersion in the Vanoise (Refuge du Mont Pourri - Refuge de la Martin)
🌲 You head towards the Martin refuge, through alpine pastures and high-altitude forests. Along the way, you will have an impressive view of the surrounding glaciers.
📏 Elevation gain: 15 km and 1000 m D+ 1200m D-.
🏡 Overnight: Martin refuge, an ideal place to enjoy the mountain atmosphere and the conviviality of other hikers. 🏞️
Day 3: Return on the balcony over the valley at the foot of the glaciers (Refuge de la Martin - Arc 1600)
🌄 After a well-deserved night, the itinerary will offer a spectacular view of the valley and an approach to the largest glaciers of Tarentaise.
