Nature activity in a high mountain panorama!🎣

Live a family or friends experience in a magical setting! Lac du Chardonnet is located at an altitude of 2384m, west of Tignes, at the gates of the Vanoise National Park.

Try it, take the fishing rods in hand and bait the rainbow trout or brook salmon that feed the lake. If you are experienced, or lucky, you can enjoy a grilled on the barbecue (available on site).

The activity is open to everyone, whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler. Our on-site supervisor can help you take your first steps as a fisherman. Children aged 7 and over are welcome to join in or continue their learning.

➡️ The morning pass

If you're an early riser, you can either make the ascent on foot or take the first chairlift from Palafour for this first slot.

➡️ The family pass

For those who take the time to have breakfast and prepare their picnic... the 12 noon slot is for you!

📍 This superb site is accessible by three routes:

  • Hiking trail from Tignes le Lac or Tignes Val Claret (300m rise in altitude) allow between 1h and 1h30 for the walk, depending on your physical condition
  • The Palafour chairlift from Tignes le Lac, then a descent on foot to the lake, approximately 1 hour in total

As a reward, an unbeatable view over the lake of Tignes... At the end of the activity, the only way to get down is to walk!

💡 Did you know ?

There is not one, but two Chardonnet lakes!  The fishing site is at the smallest lake, the one leading down to the Tignes le Lac lake (via the Combe des militaires). . You'll see our dome right next to it...

Participation conditions

  • No experience is necessary
  • Lac du Chardonnet is a private lake, so you don't need a fishing licence, just a pass
  • Access is entirely or partly on foot (via the Palafour chairlift), and the descent is on foot only. No access by car!
  • Passes are for fishers, accompanying persons are free of charge
  • A barbecue is at your disposal to enjoy your catch on the spot but bring your own pic nic!

Organization and safety

  • A supervisor is on hand to ensure that the activity runs smoothly, but this is not a fishing course, you fish independently
  • You will be fishing independently, but our supervisor will be able to guide you as you take your first steps as an angler
  • Plan to be on time (10am or 12.15pm), the first lift is at 9.15 a.m.
  • We recommend to book your pass before going up (no guarantee of availability on site)
  • The weather changes quickly in the high mountains, if a thunderstorm is announced we warn to delay the activity

  • We provide the fishing rod and the basic elements to practice the activity
  • If you have your own equipment (line or fly), you get 3 catches instead of 2
  • Wear hiking clothing (with windbreaker) and bring enough water for the day
  • You can also bring a picnic lunch to eat on site, but don't overload yourself ;)
  • Please note that you must be able to bring your waste back down
