Where does the tempting name “Spaghetti” come from? 😋
The Spaghetti Tour is the name given by Italian guides to a 5-day route in the Mont Rose massif, quite simply because every evening in the mountain huts, Italy being Italy, you’ll find a pasta dish served as a starter.

What level is required for the Mont Rose Spaghetti Tour?

This Mont Rose Spaghetti Tour is designed for experienced mountaineers with prior high-altitude experience (glacier routes, ridges, and 4000m peaks in the Alps). An excellent level of fitness is essential.

Do I need to have climbed a 4000m peak before joining?

Yes. It is strongly recommended to have already climbed several 4000m peaks in the Alps (such as Dômes de Miage, Gran Paradiso, Mont Blanc or Barre des Écrins) before attempting the Spaghetti Tour.

How difficult is the Mont Rose Spaghetti Tour?

This is a challenging mountaineering route in the Alps, with technical sections including ridges, ice slopes and rope travel. The multi-day progression at high altitude significantly increases the physical demand.

What is the difference between the full tour and the half tour?

The Full Spaghetti Tour (5 days) is a complete loop starting from Zermatt.
The Half Spaghetti Tour (3 to 4 days) is a shorter version, ideal for discovering part of the route.
