Magnificent and the only Italian summit over 4000m, Le Grand Paradis (4061m), as its name suggests, will make you dream. Immerse yourself in a silent and calm universe ,nature is all around you...

This summit, famous for its accessibility for beginner mountaineers, will immerse you in an ascent in the Valle d'Aosta. It allows an excellent acclimatization and a good introduction to the use mountaineering equipment before a possible ascent of Mont Blanc.

Your program:

Day 1: Departure around 10:30 am from Chamonix to reach Valsavarenche in Italy via the Mont-Blanc tunnel (about 1h30 drive). Ascent to the Chabod refuge (2730m) at the foot of the north face of the Gran Paradiso.

Day 2: Early departure for the ascent of Gran Paradiso via the Laveccio glacier (about 5 hours). Descent into the Valley via the Victor Emmanuel refuge (2750m).

This program can be modified according to the conditions and the level of the participants.

Your equipment

Equipment to be provided on your side:

- Technical equipment : 45 Litre backpack, mountaineering boots, crampons, walking poles, ice pick, climbing harness and a helmet (these items can be rented at our partner sport store : Sanglard
- Clothing : hiking pants, winter jacket, thin fleece jacket, windproof jacket, gloves, balaclava / beanie, pair of tights, long sleeve T-shirt, underwear, socks and changing clothes... 
- Additional equipment : Sunglasses, sunscreen, food and drinks, headlamp, sleeping bag, first-aid kit, toiletries kit, ski mask.

Equipment supplied by the mountain guide:

- Ropes and safety equipment.

🗓️ When is it best to attempt the climb?
Ideal period: June to September

⚠️ What conditions need to be met to optimize your chances of success?
Three conditions to optimize the chances of success: favorable weather, good physical condition, flexibility in the program (the program presented is the one we will follow if it remains to be the most favorable to the success of the ascent).

💪 What level of fitness is required?
Climbing a peak over 4000 m in altitude requires very good physical condition. It is therefore necessary to practice, in normal times, a regular physical activity: running, cycling...

🚫 What happens if I don't reach the summit?
If you don't reach the summit, no refund can be requested. Our priority is your safety, then the achievement of your objectives and the quality of the relationship between you and your guide.

🌧️ What if the weather's not cooperating?
If the weather is unfavorable, the guide will suggest an alternative summit, but you will not be entitled to any compensation.
