⛷️ What level is required for ski touring?
You need to be comfortable skiing off-piste. The rest can be learned, and our outings are adapted to your level.
⚠️ Is ski touring dangerous?
When supervised by a professional guide, risks are carefully managed.
🥾 What equipment do I need for ski touring?
Ski touring skis, skins, avalanche transceiver (beacon), shovel and probe. Equipment rental is available on site.
🎢 How much elevation gain is covered during a ski touring day?
Elevation gain depends on your level and the chosen itinerary: from around 500 m to over 1500 m, depending on the objective.
🪪 I’d like to try ski touring, but you say a ski lift pass is required — why?
In the Chamonix Valley, the main ski touring routes are mostly at high altitude (from around 2,000 m), which is why we require a ski lift pass. If you don’t want to purchase a lift pass, this is possible with a private option, and you can do the activity in areas such as Le Tour, Les Houches, or Le Lavancher.
🏂 I’m a good snowboarder but I’ve never skied. Is this activity possible?
Yes — you can rent a splitboard. This is a snowboard split lengthwise into two parts, allowing you to climb uphill in ski touring mode. Once at the top, you reassemble the two halves into a single board and switch back to snowboard mode for the descent.
