For the moment, we can only take two people per guide until the ridge of the Aiguille du Midi is equipped. If there are more than two of you, you will need to hire several guides to ensure your safety.
The Vallée Blanche is above all a magical setting in the heart of the snow-capped peaks of Chamonix! It is an exceptional off-piste skiing descent of more than 20 km in the middle of the Mont-Blanc massif. If you are a good skier and comfortable on all types of snow or terrain, go for it!
If you lack a little practice, we offer you a half-day option with an instructor beforehand which allows you to go on this adventure in full confidence.

- Which level to do the Vallee Blanche?: in a group, the level will be adjusted to the least experienced participant. The guide will remain the sole judge in choosing the best route.

If you are not sure of your level, we recommend that you take the "1/2 day validate my level" session, which will be offered as an option once your choice has been validated. It will allow you to do the Vallée Blanche afterwards in complete safety with maximum pleasure.

💬 Equipment and technical briefing before departure : you put on your crampons and prepare for the descent of the Aiguille du Midi ridge
(Attention, please look at the photo at the bottom of the page, the passage of the ridge can be complicated for people prone to vertigo)
🏔️ Descent of the Vallée Blanche on skis or snowboard (mix of the 2 disciplines possible). The average descent time is 5 hours, but it may vary depending on snow conditions, weather, and your skill level.. The guide will choose the best route based on all these parameters.
⛷️ Return to Chamonix on skis if the snow conditions allow it or come back down to Chamonix with the Montenvers train.
Period: from December to late April / early May, depending on snow conditions.
Skiing/Snowboarding : For group, we will not mix different disciplines. For private packages, we can mix skiers and snowboarders.

👉 Why can’t we mix skiers and snowboarders in a group option?
On the Vallee Blanche, several routes are possible. Snowboarders need steeper terrain; the classic route is too flat for them, so we have to take the Moyen or Grand Envers. These routes are too steep for some skiers, which is why we don’t mix skiers and snowboarders in group trips.
With a private option, it’s different: you all know each other and can help each other if needed.
🪪 I have the Ikon Pass — do I need to do anything specific?
With the Ikon Pass, you only have access to the Chamonix Pass. To do the Vallée Blanche, you must have the Unlimited pass. This pass is not included in the Ikon Pass, but you are entitled to a discount. You’ll need to go to the ticket office with your pass and purchase the discounted Unlimited pass.
〰️ Can we choose the route?
The route is chosen by the guide on the morning of the trip, depending on snow conditions, your skiing/snowboarding level, and the number of people in the group.
If you’d like to do a specific route, you can book a private option and let us know in advance. However, only the guide can confirm whether that route is feasible on the day.
🚸 From what age can we do the Vallée Blanche?
This activity is possible with minors, provided the child has been assessed by a mountain professional and given approval, and only as part of a private booking.
