6 Routes for your Ski Touring Adventures in Chamonix

🟢 Beginners: Col du Belvédère from La Flégère

The Col du Belvédère (2,780m) is a classic ski touring route in the Chamonix Valley. The ascent follows the south-facing slope from La Flégère. For the descent, you have two options:

1️⃣ Round trip back to La Flégère.
2️⃣ Descend into the Vallon de Bérard (north-facing) towards Le Buet, where you can often find fresh snow early in the season and in spring.

📏 Elevation gain: 650m
🏔️ Scenic view: Mont Blanc
⛷️ Descent options: Flexible descent timing. You can return the same way to La Flégère or opt for the Vallon de Bérard route.

🟢 Beginners: Les Aiguillettes des Posettes

Located near the Le Tour ski area, Les Aiguillettes des Posettes provide an ideal first ski touring experience for beginners. The panoramic views over the Chamonix Valley and the Tour Glacier are breathtaking.

📏 Elevation gain: 700m
Duration: ~2h30
⛷️ Descent options: Off-piste or via the red and blue slopes of the ski area.

🟠 Intermediate: Crochues-Bérard Traverse

A classic Chamonix ski touring route, the Crochues-Bérard Traverse starts from La Flégère (accessible from Les Praz, 3 km from Chamonix). Take the Index lift and Floria ski tow before beginning the real ascent to Col des Aiguilles Crochues. The final section is steep and requires climbing on foot.
