Val d'isère and its villages

Historically Val d'Isère is a small remote hamlet, cut off from the world during the winter. Today, the Haute Tarentaise resort has developed well to become an essential resort in the French alpine landscape. A ski area with 300km of slopes and a multitude of outdoor activities await you for an exceptional holiday !

Perched at the top of the Tarentaise valley, the resort at 1800m is made up of several sites:
- La Daille: located at the entrance to Val d'Isère, this is a group of residences 2km from the center of the village. From the daille you can directly access the slopes and the Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area.
- The val-village: located on a little more than a kilometer long, it is the authentic village of Val d'Isère. Bringing together the historic bell tower of the village of Val d'Isère and the typical mountain chalets, it is the center of Val d'Isère. Between après-ski, dance bars and restaurants at the bottom of the mythical Bellevarde face, this is the heart of the Val d'Isère resort.
- Le fornet: at the very bottom of the valley is Le Fornet, an authentic hamlet mainly made up of stone chalets. Small quiet corner of Val d'Isère is the perfect mix between calm and authenticity. You can go directly on skis to discover the Tignes-Val d'Isère area.

Small historical point: Val d'Isère was the scene of the Olympic Games of Alberville in 1992. Cradle of the world championships of alpine skiing in 2009, since 1955 Val d'Isère hosts the critérium of the first snows on the mythical face of Bellevarde .

Val d'isère's ski area

We now take you on skis. The Val d'Isère ski area is divided into 4 parts which are interconnected:

The most easterly, La Daille, is aimed more at intermediate skiers. Beginner skiers will find wide easy slopes and more seasoned skiers will find very interesting red slopes. The La Daille sector provides access to the Tignes sector.

This is followed by the Bellevarde sector which connects the Tignes sector with a wide variety of slopes. This sector is characterized by the mythical Bellevarde piste which is the scene of the ski world cups.

To the west, the Solaise sector and the Iseran pass, guaranteeing a unique panorama over the Val d'Isère valley.

To the far west is the Glacier du Pisaillas sector which culminates at 3428m and the village of Fronet. This is an opportunity to combine high altitude skiing and forest skiing on a single descent.

From the beginner's piste to the black piste, via the snowpark to the ski touring paths; the Val d'Isère area will meet all your expectations.
