How Does an e-Foil Work?
An e-foil is a surfboard equipped with an electric motor and a foil, an underwater wing that allows it to "fly" above the water. Here’s how it works:
- Electric Board: The board is wider and more stable than a traditional surfboard to accommodate the necessary battery and electronics.
- Electric Motor: Located underneath the board, the motor drives a propeller or hydrodynamic jet, creating thrust that lifts the board out of the water.
- Foil: The foil is submerged underwater. As the board reaches a certain speed, the foil generates lift that raises the board above the water, reducing drag and enabling a smooth glide.
- Remote Control: The rider controls the speed and direction with a wireless remote.
This technology allows for surfing without waves and provides a unique gliding experience above the water. 🌊
What's windfoil ?
Windfoil is a form of windsurfing where a board equipped with an underwater foil lifts above the surface while sailing. This foil, consisting of a mast and wings, allows the board to rise above the water at a certain speed, reducing drag and providing a sensation of "flying" above the water. Thus, windfoil enables you to sail with less wind and offers a smoother, more dynamic gliding experience.
