What equipment do you need for ski touring ?
To safely practice ski touring, it's essential to have the right equipment. At Evolution 2, we provide you with safety gear, including an avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe. You’ll also need:
- Ski touring skis: Equipped with specific bindings that allow the heel to be released during ascents.
- Climbing skins: Essential for grip during climbs, they attach under the skis to prevent slipping backward.
- Ski touring boots: Lighter and more flexible than alpine ski boots.
- Telescopic poles: Adjustable in length, they are useful for both ascents and descents, providing good support.
- Backpack: Choose a lightweight pack with straps to attach your skis and enough space to carry water, extra clothing, and safety equipment.
